What are the Differences Between the EPA and WQA?

The Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, governs products and resources that are used within the US. They ensure the safety and health of the public by monitoring our food and water supply. Most of their regulations focus on this goal, but they also create environmental regulations that apply to our natural resources. The EPA regulates potable water, which is the water we drink every day. They protect us from many potential health crises, especially when you consider how essential water is to life. Water literally has the potential to introduce disease and sickness to a massive amount of people. The EPA is a very important agency and we might not even be aware of their role in our day-to-day lives.

That’s where the Water Quality Association comes in. The WQA is a privately held nonprofit organization that fills a very different role from the EPA (which is a federal government agency). They are really about educating people about water quality as well as taking decent water and turning it into the highest quality water possible.
